Sports Obsession Adapts To Store Closures, Sees Increase In Sales During Coronavirus Pandemic
Sports Obsession has adapted to mandatory store closures by shifting business to an online store. They are now reaching record sales.
While the Grove City and Niles, Ohio stores have now opened, the Millcreek Mall location remains closed.
During this time the store has moved some items to an online inventory. Its website, sportsobsession.com has been operating for about a month and is already helping the company surpass average sales.
Sports Obsession owner, Brian Bowers thinks an online presence is necessary for any stores' future.
"No store can survive without an online presence with the way mall traffic is going to go down a little bit," says Bowers. "I think 25% of businesses won't make it through all this."
While the Millcreek Mall store remains closed and some items are being removed to be sold online, Sports Obsession has been able to reorganize their store to make social distancing possible when the mall does fully open
