Four McDowell students graduating with the class of 2020 are the first at the school to graduate from the Distinctive Scholars Program. Sarah Pendleton, Natalie Sebunia, Jennifer Wang, and Steven Zacharatos were honored Friday morning as the first to complete this program. 

McDowell and Millcreek School District staff delivered caps and gowns right to the students' doorsteps. 

The Distinctive Scholar Program began at McDowell high school in 2017 to provide students the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to academia through special courses and engage in meaningful community service experiences.

"It's awesome to be able to see Mrs. Rys, my guidance counselor and see the end of the road with the cap and gown," said, Sebunia.

On Thursday students will walk across the stage at a scheduled time to receive their diploma while other students had the option for their diplomas to be delivered to their homes.
