LIST: Presque Isle State Park Beaches Now Open for Swimming
Many of Presque Isle State Park's beaches are now open for swimming as of Saturday.
The following beaches will be open from noon until 7:30 p.m. daily:
- Beach 3 (Barracks Beach)
- Beach 6 (Lyons Beach)
- Beach 8 (Pettianto Beach)
- Beach 9 (Pine Tree Beach)
- Beach 10 (Budny Beach)
- Beach 11 (Kohler Beach)
Officials from Presque Isle State Park ask visitors to pay attention to the signs posted at the entrance to the park for the most up to date information.
An ADA accessible ramp to the water's edge will be placed on the west side of Beach 8.
All remaining Presque Isle beaches will be open, but visitors may not swim outside the designated guarded zones. However, they may wade up to their knees, no more than ten feet from the shoreline in the unguarded areas.
Capacity at beaches and pools will be limited to 50 percent of the normal facility capacity. Mitigation measures will be in place, including restricting visitor parking, controlling facility access, social distancing and the wearing of face masks when not in the water. All Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance remains in effect.
All picnic pavilion reservations, playgrounds, nature play areas, interpretive centers, amphitheaters, and group camping facilities statewide will remain closed in yellow areas like Erie County.
Picnic tables in state parks are dispersed to allow room to spread out and avoid crowds. Campsites and cabins should only be used by members living in the same household as part of COVID-19 mitigation efforts.
