Buffets in the Green Phase
Buffet are now able to open as Erie County shifts to the green phase. One of the popular buffets in the area, tHE GOLDEN CORRAL BUFFET ON PEACH STREET WILL BE SEEING A FEW CHANGES IN THE GREEN PHASE. john cartmell is the franchise owner and says the safety of his staff and the guests is the first priority.
"All the guests are going to be required to wear a face mask everywhere in the restaurant until they're actually seated at the table. Once they're at the tables and they're eating they'll be able to take their masks off from there," says Cartmell.
SERVERS WILL BRING YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED LIKE PLATES, DRINKS AND CONDIMENTS. ONCE IN THE BUFFET LINE, YOU'RE ABLE TO SCOOP YOUR OWN FOOD.
"It's going to be required that every 15 minutes and the major protocol that we're going to exceed that expectation is that every time we change a pan or one of our cooks or employees change a pan on the buffet, we will put a new utensil out as well," says Cartmell.
YOU MAY BE WEARY ABOUT GOING TO A BUFFET BUT CARTMELL WANTS YOU TO KNOW HIM AND HIS STAFF ARE TAKING EVERY PRECAUTION POSSIBLE TO KEEP GUESTS SAFE.
"We will be touching all of the high touch areas, the self serve ice cream machine, all the door handles the railings where you stand in line at will have touch points of being sanitized every 5-10 minutes," says Cartmell.
Golden Corral doesn't plan on opening until July 3rd because Cartmell says he's still waiting on deliveries and need to fully train staff on the updated guidelines.
