SOUTH CONELLSVILLE, Pa. (AP) - Fire claimed the life of a woman in a a mobile home in western Pennsylvania, authorities said.

Fire crews in Fayette County were called to the South Connellsville residence shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday and reported heavy smoke and extreme heat.

Officials said a woman apparently became trapped in the back bedroom near the location where the fire started. Her teenage daughter wasn't home when the fire started, they said.

The county coroner's office identified her as 58-year-old Patricia Ringer and said an autopsy was planned. A volunteer firefighter from Dawson was treated at the scene for a leg injury.

The state police fire marshal's office is trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
