State Reports 16 New Coronavirus Cases in Erie County, Three More in Crawford County
The Pennsylvania Department of Health is reporting 667 new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, increasing the state's total to 88,741 cases as of midnight Friday.
The state is reporting a total of 642 positive cases for Erie County, which is 16 more than Thursday.
Crawford County's total number of positive cases increased by three to 62, while Warren County's total stays at seven.
There were 6,746 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths in the state - an increase of 34 from Thursday.
Erie County said it has 14 coronavirus-related deaths, but the Pennsylvania Department of Health is only reporting 12. There have been no coronavirus-related deaths in either Crawford County. The state is reporting one death for Warren County.
Approximately 78 percent of positive cases have recovered. 715,403 patients have tested negative for coronavirus.
In nursing and personal care homes, there are 17,888 resident cases of COVID-19, and 3,323 cases among employees, for a total of 21,211 at 706 different facilities in 52 counties. Out of total deaths, 4,583 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.
Approximately 6,745 of total cases are in health care workers
Gov. Tom Wolf's administration moved Wednesday to expand its indoor mask order to public places outdoors where social-distancing is impossible, while he also said that he prefers to let Pennsylvania's local governments handle further coronavirus restrictions, as opposed to the broad shutdown orders he imposed this spring.
