Police and emergency crews responded to an accident Wednesday morning involving a car and motorcycle.

It happened about 10:30 this morning at the intersection of Peach Street and Shunpike Road in the City of Erie right in front of the South Central Fire Station.

Reports from the scene indicate an SUV driver pulled out in front of the motorcycle. The bike then hit the SUV.

The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The motorcycle was snapped in half but the operator didn't seem injured, and refused treatment at the scene.

Construction in that area may have impeded sight lines.

Police continue to investigate.
