On July 1, 2020, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf mandated that a face covering must be worn whenever anyone leaves their home. Studies indicate face coverings are an effective way to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

This mandate affects anyone over the age of two, with very limited exceptions.

As students in Pennsylvania return to school this fall, they will be required to wear masks while in school entities, including public K-12 schools, brick and mortar and cyber charter schools, private and parochial schools, career and technical centers (CTCs), intermediate units (IUs); educational programming for students in non-educational placements such as residential settings (boarding schools), residential facilities, detention centers, and hospital settings; PA Pre-K Counts, Head Start Programs and Preschool Early Intervention programs; and Private Academic Nursery Schools and locally funded prekindergarten activities.

But how do you know that the latest must-have fashion accessory is both effective - and cool enough - for your little ones? Erie News Now and Dr. Becky Dawson break down some of the choices for you.
