Tidioute Community Charter School only has 300 students at their school, but the building is big, and that's helping them out this year with all the changes they've made to keep everyone safe.

The first thing students do when they enter the school building each morning is get their temperature checked.

School Officials tell Erie News Now they are doing whatever they can to keep their students safe and have that face-to-face interaction while teaching.

"They (students) want to be here, our parents want our kids back," says Office Manager, Heather Cass. "Everybody is being overly accommodating to all these changes because we want this to succeed."

Junior, Angelina Sabella says although there are many changes to the school year, she's happy to be back.

"It's really exciting to be able to get out of the house and see my friends but safely," says Sabella. "Another thing different is the lunch line, everyone is spread out, your food is out on a different tray, I think everything is pretty safe."

The school transformed the cafeteria into a classroom, spaced desk 6 feet apart and classrooms into lunch rooms are just a few of the many changes students are getting use to this year.

Tidioute Community Charter School has been in school for a week now and Assistant Principal, Ryan Guerra, tells Erie News Now the students have been very adaptive.

''The kids have been fantastic, that's the basics of getting them back in," says Guerra. "Yes, things are different, our teachers are coming early and staying late. The importance of getting the kids back in and getting that face to face learning but, if we do flip we are prepared for that as well."
