Two Harbor Creek Junior/Senior High School Employees Test Positive for Coronavirus
Harbor Creek School District has learned two employees at the Junior/Senior High School tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), according to message from superintendent Kelly Hess posted Wednesday.
One of the employees was last on site Wednesday, Sept. 2, and no close contacts at the school were identified within 48 hours prior to being tested, Hess said. The district was notified of the positive test Tuesday evening.
Another employee at the Junior/Senior High School also tested positive and was last on site Friday, Sept. 4. No close contacts of the employee have been identified at the school within 48 hours of symptom onset, according to the district.
Both employees are following isolation guidelines, the superintendent said. All areas previously used by the employees have been thoroughly disinfected.
The school district has communicated with the Erie County Department of Health and has followed the health and safety plan in accordance with the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Hess said.
The county health department is working with the employees to perform any contact tracing work and notify anyone who may be required to self-quarantine.
The privacy of both employees is being protected under HIPPA regulations, according to Hess.
