Fall, Winter Trout Stocking to Begin Week of Oct. 1
Tuesday marks the first day of fall, and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) is reminding anglers that abundant trout fishing opportunities are set to open soon across the state.
PFBC officials say approximately 120,000 hatchery raised adult Rainbow, Brown and Brook Trout will be stocked in more than 100 streams a lakes throughout Pennsylvania.
The stocking efforts begin the week of October 1 and will continue through mid-December.
Stockings replenish popular fishing spots and provide ice fishing opportunities as conditions allow through the winter.
Volunteers will not be permitted to assist with fall and winter stocking due to pandemic restrictions. The PFBC has published a list of stocking dates and locations, available below.
Anglers are reminded to practice social distancing and remain at least six feet away from other anglers who are not in your family group.
