Erie's Federal Hill Smokehouse has recently been named the best in BBQ in Pennsylvania.

It received that honor from the prestigious Food and Wine Magazine last month.

The article touted their "honking beef ribs", their deep fried pulled pork cakes with chipotle cream and the brisket.

Owners Ryan and Autumn Atzert opened Federal Hill in 2016 and say business has picked up since word got out about the honor.

Ryan says he's often at work by 5 a.m. smoking the meats and getting everything ready for the day.

Federal Hill Smokehouse is located at West 26th and Peach Street in Erie.

They have limited hours of 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. or sellout - which they do often.
