Back the Blue Rally Underway Starting in North East
Just over two weeks until Election Day and different organizations are doing their part this weekend to show support for their candidates.
One of the events this weekend was the Erie Trump and Back the Blue Train Rally.
It got underway in North East at 10 am and the group traveled through Erie county, Fairview, Downtown Erie, the Peninsula and ending at Waldameer this afternoon. Dozens of cars, trucks, and bikes gathered for the rally.
Brian Shank, the organizer said, "this is like a perfect time for an event so we can just get everyone pumped up and excited that our President is coming to town in a couple days and set him up for re-election."
This day long event included merchandise tents, the parade and just coming together with others who think President Trump should stay in office.
Glenn Craig, a supporter is happy with the work President Trump is doing in office, "He's doing an excellent job, I think he supports our military, I think our economy is doing extremely well even with the pandemic and everything and I think he will continue to do so in the next four years."
Craig continued to shared that by attending today's event was his way of showing support for President Trump, "I've been looking for different ways to show support for the president because I don't always necessarily have a whole lot of money to donate to that end."
Following the rally, a tailgate party is planned for participants. It will feature a DJ, food trucks and guest speakers.
Anyone who attended was asked to bring a canned good item as part of their entry fee.
Organizers say this event couldn't have come at a better time, just before President Trump returns to Erie.
