A free community cancer screening event is set for November 7 at Saint Vincent Hospital, Highmark and Allegheny Health Network (AHN) announced Monday. 

The event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon at Saint Vincent Hospital, the AHN Cancer Institute at Saint Vincent and the Hardner Building. All screening locations are on the Saint Vincent campus between 24th and 26th and Myrtle streets in the City of Erie. 

Screenings offered during the event: 

  • Skin Cancer (AHN Cancer Institute at Saint Vincent)
  • PSA/Prostate Cancer (Cancer Institute at Saint Vincent)
  • Colorectal Cancer (AHN Cancer Institute at Saint Vincent)
  • Low Dose CT Scan for Lung (Saint Vincent (Hospital)
  • Mammograms (Hardner Building)
  • Screenings for Cervical Cancer (AHN Cancer Institute at Saint Vincent)

According to AHN officials, health care providers will conduct a full-body physical exam to screen for skin cancer. The colorectal cancer screening will consist of a take-home stool testing kit. The prostate screening will be a PSA blood draw test.  The lung cancer screening, for those eligible, will include a low dose CT scan of the lungs. The breast cancer screening will include a mammogram. 

Individuals are able to receive multiple screenings as long as they meet the criteria for them. 

The free screening event is open to anyone, regardless of their hospital affiliation or insurance.
