Millcreek Township Receives Nearly $130K State Grant to Boost Recycling Efforts

Millcreek Township is the recipient of a $129,904 state grant to boost recycling efforts in Millcreek Township, state Rep. Ryan Bizzarro announced Thursday.
The Recycling Program Performance Grant was awarded by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
Some of the various ways this type of funding can be used includes the expansion of recycling processing facilities, the installation of data collection systems on recycling vehicles, the continuation or creation of curbside recycling programs, the development of educational materials or the operation of leaf compost facilities.
DEP officials say grants are awarded based on total tons recycled and recycling rates for commercial and residential recycling.
