The Second Harvest Food Bank is extending a helping hand to people now unemployed because of new COVID-19 restrictions.

The food bank is worried that many employees of restaurants, bars, gyms, and bowling alleys might be facing hunger for the first time.

So managers have scheduled a food distribution for Saturday morning.

Each family will get a box of food, primarily staples, plus produce to help them over the holidays.

Zachary Webb of the Second Harvest Food Bank said, "If you are newly unemployed because of the new restrictions that have gone in place, call and we will make sure you have food to get through the holidays."

The distribution is scheduled for Saturday December 19th at 10 am at the food bank complex on Grimm Drive.

Everyone must pre-register by Thursday December 17th at 4 pm by calling the Second Harvest Food Bank at 459-3663 extension 114.
