EMTA LIFT Service to Provide Free Transportation for Seniors to COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics

The Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority's LIFT service has agreed to provide free transportation for seniors to local vaccine and appointments.
The service is in partnership with the Erie County Department of Health.
Eligible seniors can take The LIFT to any medical appointment in Erie County free of charge. They must be signed up with LIFT before receiving a ride.
Applications are available below or through the EMTA website. They can be mailed in or dropped off to EMTA at 127 E. 14th St., Erie, Pa. 1503.
Seniors who do not have internet access can have somebody they know print it out for them and drop it off or mail it in. They can also request to have an application mailed to them by calling The LIFT's customer service line at 814-455-3330.
The LIFT does not transport riders to testing sites. People who have tested positive for COVID-19 are not permitted to ride EMTA's public transportation.
When making an appointment, EMTA officials say seniors should budget time for the 15-minute holding time after receiving their COVID-19 vaccination.
