Mass COVID-19 Vaccination Site Opens in Venango County
A mass COVID-19 vaccination site opened Friday in Venango County.
The site is operating inside the former Bon-Ton department store at the Cranberry Mall in Seneca.
Organizers of the clinic say vaccinations will be offered at the site for the next three months.
The clinic is the result of a team effort between UPMC Northwest, the Venango County commissioners, and the Cranberry Mall to get a large, centralized vaccination site in Venango County.
Cranberry Mall officials agreed to open up the space occupied by the former Bon-Ton, which has been empty for several years, free of charge. The gas in the former department store had been turned off, but National Fuel restored gas service to the space for the clinics. Venango County government has agreed to take care of the utility bill.
500 shots will be administered Friday. Additional clinics are set for Monday, March 1 and Thursday, March 5. Hours of operation will be 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
