Erie Police Looking for Suspects in German Street Shooting
Erie police are investigating a shooting incident that happened just before 9:30 Saturday night in the area of 1222 German Street.
Several people called 9-1-1 after hearing multiple gunshots in that neighborhood.
The first officers responding to the scene found a shooting victim in a yard.
According to officials he suffered serious injuries to his lower leg, from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital by Emergycare rescuers.
There were reports at the scene of a second victim taken to the hospital in a private vehicle, but according to city police officials, after checking area hospitals, a second shooting victim has not turned up.
Investigators found several shell casings in two locations at the shooting scene. Some reportedly in the area of a porch.
Police have made no arrests so far. The investigation is ongoing. They are working to sort out exactly what happened, and who fired the gun shots.
