More than 110K Fully Vaccinated in Erie, Crawford and Warren Counties; Coronavirus Hospitalizations Statewide Falling
Statewide cases, deaths and testing
The Pennsylvania Department of Health is reporting 4,164 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases statewide in the last 24 hours, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 1,131,014 cases as of Saturday.
The state is reporting a total of 25,983 coronavirus-related deaths Saturday, which is an increase 45.
Approximately 89 percent of cases have recovered. 4,342,722 have tested negative for coronavirus with 9,958 more negatives Saturday.
Hospitalizations and testing
In Pennsylvania, there are 2,656 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, which is a decrease of 46 from Friday. Of that number, 553 (-10) are in the ICU.
The trend in the 14-day moving average number of hospitalized patients per day is about 3,500 lower than it was at the peak on Dec. 25, 2020. The current 14-day average is also below what it was at the height of the spring peak on May 3, 2020. However, the moving average of number of hospitalized patients has started to increase.
Statewide percent positivity for the week of April 16-22 stood at 8.6%.
Vaccinations
Pennsylvania has administered 7,909,892 (+121,062) total vaccine doses through April 23. 46.2 percent of Pennsylvania's population has received a first dose of vaccine, according to the state Department of Health.
A total of 110,255 (+3,879) people have been fully vaccinated in Erie, Crawford and Warren Counties. 39,989 (+2,117) are partially vaccinated.
Vaccination numbers for Pennsylvania do not include Philadelphia, which is its own jurisdiction, or federal facilities, which are working directly with the federal government.
All Pennsylvania adults are eligible to schedule an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccine.

Erie County saw 46 new cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the county's total number of cases to 19,839 as of Saturday.
The county reported one new death Friday, increasing the total at 458. The state reported no new deaths in Erie County Saturday, keeping the total at 403. The county and state use different data sources for deaths, causing the discrepancy.
16 (-5) patients are hospitalized with COVID-19 with five (-2) adult patients in the ICU. One (+0) are on a ventilator. 37 (+1) out of 194 total ventilators are in use.
Crawford County's cases increased by 15 to 6,961. No new deaths were reported in the county Saturday, leaving the total at 147.
Five (-4) patients are hospitalized with COVID-19 with five (+1) adult patients in the ICU. Two (+0) are on a ventilator. Six (+0) out of 24 total ventilators are in use.
Warren County's case total increased by two Saturday, increasing the total to 2,466. No new deaths were reported, keeping the total at 101.
