A handful of voters took their ballots homes instead of casting them Tuesday, and according to Doug Smith, the Erie County Clerk, it was due to poll worker error.
Nine voters using the ballot-marking device at the Jefferson School left without scanning their ballots and instead took them home.
A similar situation happened at Girard United Methodist Church in Girard Township.
About 24 voters took their ballots home there.
These were the only places effected. Erie county clerk Doug Smith said that some of them have been returned but not all of them.
"In either case, the poll worker involved felt somehow that the voter was able to take a receipt of sorts with them, this case a ballot that was produced by marking devices," Smith said.
