LED Lighting Manufacturer Truck-Lite to Relocate from Falconer, NY to Penn State Behrend's Knowledge Park
Truck-Lite, which makes light-emitting diode (LED) lighting systems for commercial vehicles, will relocate its existing headquarters from Falconer, New York, to Penn State Behrend's Knowledge Park, the Wolf administration announced Monday.
This will create 90 new jobs. The company already employs 582 positions statewide at its Pennsylvania locations in McElhattan, Wellsboro and Coudersport.
Truck-Lite will lease nearly 30,000 sq. ft. from Penn State Behrend for its back-office operations, and Behrend will invest in enhancements to its Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Center (AMIC) which will contain Truck-Lite’s laboratory and test space.
The company received a funding proposal from the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) for a $270,000 Pennsylvania First Grant. It was also encouraged to apply for the department’s Manufacturing Tax Credit program and R&D Tax Credit program. The company has committed to investing at least $1.31 million into the project.
Truck-Lite was established in 1955 and is owned by Southfield, Michigan-based Clarience Technologies LLC. The company manufactures LED signal and forward lighting products for automotive, heavy-duty truck, off-highway, marine, military and construction vehicles.
