Girard businesses teamed up Thursday for a small business block party complete with vendors, food trucks, live music, and hay rides.
The special event celebrates the beginning of a more normal summer, and it's meant to bring people downtown toward local businesses.
One of the business owners taking part in Wednesday's festivities says she's grateful for community support that helped her survive the pandemic, but she and other business owners need even more support this year.

"I think people forget about us and drive right past us on their way to the bigger places," said Terri Rash of the Curiosity Shoppe. "You don't find things you find at every big place. You're not going to find the same shirt over and over again. We have unique things."
