Paving work on Route 20 in the City of Erie and Millcreek Township will start later this month.

4.5 miles of Route 20 (26th St.) from Zuck Rd. in Millcreek Township to Chestnut St. in the City of Erie will be resurfaced.

Work will also include milling, base repair, drainage upgrades, guiderail replacement, curb ramps, sidewalk improvements and new pavement marking and signs.

Construction is expected to start July 26, and will be done weather permitting. It is expected to wrap up by early November 2021.

No detour is planned, but drivers may see lane restrictions.

PennDOT awarded the $3,844,348 contract to Lindy Paving, of Union City. 80 percent of the costs will be covered by federal funds with 20 percent coming from state funds.
