An inmate at SCI Cambridge Springs was found dead in her cell Friday morning, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections.

Employees were doing security rounds on a housing unit when an officer discovered Kiska Kronenwetter, 34, unresponsive around 3:40 a.m.

Staff and medical personnel were called, but Kronenwetter was pronounced dead.

Pennsylvania State Police will investigate, per state policy. The Crawford County Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause of death.

Kronenwetter was serving a 1 year, 10 month, 15 day to 10 year sentence for endangering welfare of children. She was received at SCI Cambridge Springs as a parole violator July 13.
