Route 8 Fully Open in Venango County; Section to Close Monday

All lanes of Route 8 in Venango County have reopened to traffic, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced Friday.
The southbound and northbound lanes will close again Monday, Oct. 4, so work can resume on the bridge that carries Route 8 over Georgetown Rd. in Irwin Township. The lanes are not expected to reopen until mid-October. A detour using Georgetown Rd. and Old Route 8 will be in place.
This is the final phase of the two-year, $32.6 million project to repair and rebuild nearly 10 miles of Route 8 from Georgetown Rd. in Irwin Township to Polk Cutoff Rd. in Sandycreek Township.
