In Venango County, oil city residents are outraged after 2 local high school students posted photos participating in what they call "the George Floyd challenge".

This photo of a student kneeling on a classmates head surfaced social media this weekend. Many residents posted how upset the were that this challenge was created.

"To be making fun of it in the way that they are or to be making a challenge out of it is despicable" said Oil City resident Jared Gawrys.

The oil city school district spoke out against this behavior. They posted to Facebook that the school district thinks the photo is  culturally insensitive.

The school districts said they don't condone such behavior as it is against the values they teach. They will now be handling the matter privately with no comment on student disciplinary matters.

The people we spoke to say something like this should have never happened.
