Flying Squirrel, a place that literally aims to have kids bouncing for joy, will soon be celebrating one year in business in east Erie.

The indoor trampoline park caters to families all-year-round, but it is especially popular when it’s rainy or cold outside.

“It’s kind a hard when they’re stuck in the house all the time, but it’s nice when the kids get together and can have some fun," said Alex Lockwood, of Erie. "It’s also nice for the moms because we get to chat and catch up and have a little bit of alone time even when the kids are having fun."

It’s also a draw for dads, too. Rich Bayhurst and his brother have a standing playdate about twice a week with their kids for Toddler Time.

In addition to jumping, there’s an inflatable bounce house and balancing action. There's even an air track, which is essentially a 30-by-40 air mattress for people to practice their flips and jumps.

There are also other amenities to enjoy at Flying Squirrel  including an arcade, a lounge area and a big screen TV with a focus on sports and even massage chairs that face the trampoline park.

"That’s one thing that drives us is just seeing everybody come in and enjoy themselves,” said Ben Thompson, assistant manager.

Thompson said a fun, safe and clean environment is the goal.

“We do a rundown of the whole park, sanitize everything and just make sure it’s safe for the next people to come in,” said Thompson.

Private parties can also be held at the trampoline park.

Flying Squirrel is located at the Grandview Shopping Plaza on E. Grandview Blvd. You can learn more on its website here.
