As Veterans Day approaches, an Erie company is helping out one veteran in a big way.

Angelo's Roofing this week started a new tradition by providing a veteran with a brand-new roof for free.

Chris Czigler is the first recipient. He is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran whose military service came to an end after he was injured during a training exercise.

Like many others, the past year-and-a-half has been financially tough.

By providing Czigler with a new roof, Angelo's helped him save nearly $15,000, lifting the financial burden he would have faced.

"Most likely, I'd be in a hole trying to get the money to financially - maybe have to put a lien on the home, such things like that," said Czigler. "Yes, it's a great great help financially."

Angelo's Roofing hopes to finish the project by the end of the week.
