Ryan Zapolski is an Olympics analyst and contributor for the Erie News Now team.

Ryan is a former Olympian who says his favorite memory was skating onto the rink to fans cheering “USA, USA!”. Ryan played goaltender on the U.S. National Team in the 2018 games held in PyeongChang, South Korea.

A native of Erie, Ryan played professional hockey in the United States and Europe. He was Rookie of the Year, Goaltender of the Year and MVP playing in the ECHL during the 2012-13 season. He later played in Austria and Finland.

During his college career, he played 109 games. He is now a volunteer assist coach with Mercyhurst.
