Hundreds of people lined up to get a COVID-19 test Thursday at the Bayfront Convention Center.

There was a long line with hundreds of people wrapping around the entire Convention Center just before 3 p.m.

People we spoke with said they have felt symptoms while others are doing this as a precaution after they came in contact with someone who tested positive.

For weeks, it has been difficult to find at-home tests.

The Department of Health is hoping these mobile clinics will help stop the spread of COVID-19

"We've been dealing with this disease now for almost two years," said Charlotte Berringer, Erie County Department of Health. "A lot of people understand that when they are exposed, they need to get tested. When the have symptoms, they need to get tested. They are smart enough to show up here to do it."

The clinic wrapped up at 6 p.m.

The next public testing clinic is Monday at Department of Public Safety on Flower Rd. from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
