The spike in Covid cases is hurting home games for the Erie Otters, too.

New travel restrictions in Ontario are forcing the team to play most games on the road against Canadian opponents for the time being.

Local bars and restaurants normally would fill up with otters fans on game nights.

Bars are noticing a significant difference.

"We do feel an effect of that when there's not a game. After the games we normally got a decent after crowd", said Cloud Nine General Manager Rob Garber.

Downtown Erie businesses look forward to the resume of games.
