Chick-Fil-A Opens at Gannon University
After a week's delay because of a post holiday COVID-19 case surge Gannon University students resumed classes on campus Tuesday. And they returned to a new dining option on campus.
After two years in the planning stage, Gannon University officials and their food service, Metz Culinary Management, officially cut the ribbon on a new Chick-Fil-A restaurant located right in the university's Waldron Campus Center.
The restaurant location was developed in Gannon's campus in response to students looking for more dining options.
Dr. Walter Iwanenko, Gannon University Provost said the new option is already a busy place. "There's been lines and students waiting, we upgraded a little technology so we're using campus Grub Hub so students are able to order ahead of time. And what's been impressive is the response from folks especially local businesses whose employees are coming to use the franchise as well."
Metz Culinary Management which secured the restaurant franchise, will work closely with Chick-Fil-A to maintain day-to-day operations. The restaurant will create some employment opportunities for Gannon students as well.
The restaurant will be open from 10AM TO 10PM Monday through Saturday. In keeping with their corporate philosophy, the restaurant will be closed on Sundays.
You can access Chick-Fil-A from an outside door, or from inside the Waldron Campus Center.
