Calamari's Owner Goes to Extreme Measures to Clear Snow Around Property
Whether at the end of your driveway, on your street corner, or the the parking areas where you shop or eat, we've all been navigating around huge piles of snow.
Calamari's in downtown Erie, as well as at their catering business, was forced to close and lose a day of customers, due to the heavy snow that hit the region two weeks ago.
With some coaxing, the city finally cleared the alley behind the business, but to clear the heavy snow from the employee parking lot behind the restaurant, and the pathways in to Calamari's from the back deck to the front entrance on State Street, owner Jay Honard had to go to extreme measures.
He paid a construction contractor to come in with a high lift, skid steer and dump trucks to haul it all away.
"I believe it was about five dump truck loads between the two places. They worked on it for about nine hours," Honard said.
As for the forecast later this week, Honard says, bring it on.
He hopes he doesn't have to have it trucked away again, but if he does, he will.
