The family of the North East man who was shot and killed by a state trooper in Buffalo, New York on Saturday released a statement about his death.

New York State Police said 38 year-old James Huber was driving erratic on Interstate 90 on Saturday morning. Authorities spotted him and tried to pull him over. Huber then exited the highway into Buffalo.

Troopers saw his car near Washington Street walked up to car and tried to talk to him ,but they said he tried to pull away. A trooper then fired at Huber.

Huber died at the scene and the trooper suffered minor injuries.

Huber's lifelong friend and mother of his daughter, Cary Arnold released the following statement to Erie News Now:

"My daughter and I are doing the best we can and still trying to process this. He was a good man and didn’t deserve this and now his kids have to go without a father & his mother has to bury her son. This was an unexpected tragedy that didn’t have to happen. Our daughter is now 18 and just starting her adult life and shouldn’t have to deal with something like this at such a young age. I know he is proud of her and loved all of his children and mothers of his children. Jimmy had a huge heart and would give anyone the shirt off his back. He will truly be missed and always loved."

Huber's daughter, Janelle Arnold released the following statement as well:

"Jimmy wasn’t always around for me for many years of my life but when he was he did everything he could to make me have a smile on my face. He was loved by many people and he loved very many. He would do anything for all of his kids even if it was his very last. He didn’t have the best life and had much heartache but he made the best of every situation. One of the last things he said to me just a few days before the incident was how proud he was of me over all the years and how much he appreciated my mom and step dad for doing there best with me for the times he was absent. My father was an amazing person who made lots of mistakes but he didn’t deserve to lose his life at such a young age and us kids didn’t deserve to lose our father. He will forever be in my heart and i will forever remember him for being the goofy and outgoing person he was??R.I.H Dad"
