If you have lived in this region for a while or visit often, you know that Peach Street is a busy place, especially near I-90.

There's a lot to see and do, and lots of places to stay.

But one hotel is now celebrating only six months of being open. Its new, and ready to welcome you.

The Holiday Inn on Downs Drive, just off Peach Street near I-90 opened in September, 2021.

General manager Shawn Gollinger says "Everything is brand-new."

Like the new conference room that seats up to 90 people, private parties and meetings can be catered or have food brought in, and its not far from the hotel pool, which is for guests only.

The same for the state-of-the-art fitness studio, complete with machines and weights.

"We have a lot of amenities that are not only built for the business travelers during the week but also the leisure travelers you know a lot of the events that come to Erie." said Gollinger.

That also includes a full service restaurant, which is open to the public, serving up breakfast and dinner.

There's also a bar, serving drinks to hotel guests and visitors right off the outdoor patio, which can also be rented out for small groups.

Laundry service and a grab n' go area next to the front desk are also available.

But this hotel is best known for the rooms.

There's 150 of them, from standard two beds, to king beds. Rooms also have either a bathtub or shower, and all include coffee makers, TVs and desks.

They even feature an audio visual door alert for the hearing impaired, and other handicap accessible options

"Our desk staff to our housekeepers our houseman in the restaurant, we try to provide the best service possible to make sure everyone feels like they're having a unique experience," said Gollinger.

Cleanliness is a priority, with staff taking the time to make sure a nights stay is as good as it gets, whether you travel far or enjoy an Erie staycation.

The Holiday Inn Erie is one of 56 hotels owned by Hawkeye Hotels, a family-owned company based in Iowa.
