The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has rescheduled its closure for part of Hamot Rd. for work on a roundabout, according to an announcement Friday.

Part of Hamot Rd. will instead be closed starting May 10 for work on a five-leg roundabout in Summit Township, Erie County.

It will be closed at the intersections with Oliver Rd. and Flower Rd., so new roadway approaches can be built.

A detour will be posted using Route 19 (Peach St.) and Hershey Rod. It is expected to be in place for nine days, weather-permitting.

Construction of the roundabout is being done in seven phases. More short-term detours and traffic pattern shifts will be needed throughout the project.
