An Erie man has turned his hobbies into a business serving some outdoor enthusiasts.

The Isle Surf and Skate, which is located on W. 12th St. near Potomac Ave. in Millcreek Township, is a surfer's haven.

Dan Parra had the idea for the business nine months ago and worked to make it a reality with the blessing of his wife.

It offers boards, paddles, wetsuits and other gear for surfers.

There's even a special skateboard room where the boards can be assembled in less than a half-hour.

The Isle Surf and Skate plans to expand in the future.

The couple would like to offer a mobile unit near Presque Isle where beachgoers can grab a boogie board, umbrella and beach chairs for a day at the beach.
