The Erie Zoo opened up its main building on Wednesday for the first time in two years.

Officials marked the occasion with a ribbon cutting ceremony on the front steps of the main building.

Construction on the building started in 2019 to restore the building back to its historical 1930s façade, as well as make some minor improvements to the interior.

The main building remains home to a number of species including black and white ruffed lemurs, naked mole rats, small exotic cat species and more.

You can check it all out for yourself. The zoo is open everyday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
