Dozens of Catholics gathered in downtown Erie around Saint Peter's Cathedral for a Eucharistic procession on Sunday afternoon.

This comes after bishops around the United States developed a three year plan about Eucharist to help Catholics better understand the teaching of Christ's real presence in the Eucharist.

All throughout the country, Catholic dioceses had their own Eucharistic processions. In the Diocese of Erie alone, there were four processions being held. The processions happened in DuBois, Hermitage and Bradford.

Bishop Lawrence Persico led the Erie procession which included singing by Saint Peter's Cathedral choir.

The procession went around the cathedral on 10th street and continued onto Peach before going back to the cathedral.
