With gas prices lingering at $5 a gallon, many residents are looking for a cheaper alternative to get around Erie.

The Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority reports and increase in ridership and has no plans to make changes to their routes or fares. Riders should expect to pay $1.65 for a cash bus fare.

EMTA's Marketing Director Sarah Morrison reminds riders that their routes and services expand throughout all of Erie County.

"We have it built in our budget to be prepared for gas price fluctuations," said Marketing Director Sarah Morrison. "This is a good time to take advantage of the service and learn how to ride the E."
