Flagship City Bocce Challenge Coming to Downtown Erie
The Flagship City Bocce Challenge is coming to downtown Erie this summer.
Teams of four can register now through July 1. It costs $100 and is limited to 16 teams.
The bocce challenge is a three-day, single-elimination tournament to determine the best bocce players in Erie.
It will be held Tuesday, July 5; Thursday, July 7; and Saturday, July 9.
The winning team will receive $500 in Flagship City Food Hall and Flagship City Public Market gift cards.
"Erie is a bocce town," said John Persinger, CEO of Erie Downtown Development Corporation. "There's so many different bocce leagues throughout the city. People play in these leagues and they play in their backyards. There are serious players, competitive players. We want to find the best of the best, and that's why we're doing it right here in Perry Square, the heart of the city."
