A public meeting to discuss Erie County parks, trails and a recreational plan was held Thursday night at the Erie County Conservation District in Millcreek Township.

A feasibility study was done to evaluate goals of the county and explore available resources, opportunities and partnerships.

Information on the process and results of the study were also released.

Residents of Erie County were also invited to give their input.

The county is looking to hire a parks and recreation coordinator as a major step to help implement the overall plan.

"We want them to promote collaboration, help with fundraising and grantmaking, provide support and help them do what they want to do," said Joy Fronzoli, greenways administrator.

In 2020-2021, the Erie County Department of Planning and Community Development received a $10,000 grant program to support the hiring of a consultant to assist in the research of this project.
