As Cathedral Prep and Villa Maria merge into one school beginning next school year, the athletic department Thursday unveiled the updated athletic brand.

The new logos and athletic brand incorporate elements from both Cathedral Prep and Villa Maria's color scheme.

I think it's a historic day. It's the culmination of a lot of hard work by a lot of people, a lot of people that are invested in this institution," said Bill Flanagan, Vice President of Athletics for Cathedral Prep. "I think more than anything, we're just excited for the kids. This is what this is about, it's their future. They're excited about it. To have it unveiled together with boys and girls for the first time, couldn't be more excited."

Villa Maria merges with Cathedral Prep after a decision was made in 2020 to combine the schools.

"It signifies a new beginning, a combination of two wonderful traditions and a continuation of excellence," said Doug Chuzie, Cathedral Prep's head girls basketball coach.

"It's an awesome day. Number one it's a really good day for collaboration and unity," said Steve Piotrowicz, Cathedral Prep's head boys basketball coach. "I know our boy's team has gotten really close with the girls team. Besides the name on the jersey for the girl's, I think it's an opportunity not only for current but future students to come together as one and to create an unbelievable academic and athletic program."
