PennDOT Paving Project in Erie County to Start Next Week
A $3.5 million paving project will start in Erie County next week, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced Thursday.
The roads to be resurfaced are:
- Route 8 – from north of the Casler Road to the northern intersection with Route 89 in Amity and Venango townships, and Borough of Wattsburg; 3.7 miles
- Route 505 – from Route 20 (26th Street) in the City of Erie to Route 97 (Old French Road) in Millcreek Township; 2.85 miles
The project includes milling, paving, tree trimming and updates to guiderail and drainage.
The work will start the week of July 11, and is expected to be completed by October 2022.
Drivers may see lane restrictions, and PennDOT is asking anyone on the roads to be watch out for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions.
Joseph McCormick Construction, of Erie, was awarded the $3,469,634 contract, which will be paid using state funding.
