Stormy weather in Venango County Sunday afternoon caused a tragic death.

Kelsey Harris, 28, and a dog were killed when a large tree fell across two mobile homes in the Idlewood Trailer Court during thunderstorms, according to the victim's mother.

Harris got up to see what happened after a few tree branches fell. That's when the tree fell, her mother said.

The falling tree split the mobile home on Oakwood Dr. in half and also slammed into the mobile home next door as well.

Her fiancé was also home at the time, but he survived.

The mother told Erie News Now she was going to see Harris and was pulling up at her home when the tree came down, but they were unable to move it.

Tammy Griffen said her daughter had expressed worry about the tree falling.

We talked to the owners of the Idlewood Mobile Home park.  They've owned the property for two years.  In that time they say they've removed multiple trees and even some of the mobile homes in order to keep the property safe.
