Members new and old of St. Luke's Church celebrated one another with their parish picnic and mass on Sunday.

The event began with mass at St. Nick's Grove at noon followed by food, fellowship and games.

The pastor said they have been promoting this event for a while and were pleased with close to 300 people attending on Sunday afternoon.

The pastor said the goal of the church's picnic was the spend time with one another and be grateful for the gifts they have.

"The message of today is be grateful. We got to be grateful for everything we have, the gifts that we have are not our own, they are God's and they are given to us so that we can help the world be a little better place to live", said Fr. John Malthaner, pastor of St. Luke's Church.

St Luke's Church is located on East 38th street and has been open since 1954.
