Wedding Venue in Waterford Creating Lasting Memories for Erie Couples: Giving You the Business
Planning for a wedding can be fun yet overwhelming, but a married couple in Erie County is providing brides and grooms their expertise, and acres of beauty, history and options at their outdoor venue.
Vince Mediate and his bride Christina had their wedding ceremony and reception at Argyll Abbey Estate.
"Everything kind of clicked," said Mediate. "We didn't really have to worry about much on the day of because they kind of took care of a lot of it for us."
That's thanks to Joseph and Kelly King, co-owners of Argyll Abbey Estate, which is located off Wheelertown Rd. in Waterford.
It is named after the place where Kelly was born in Scotland.
The wedding venue opened in 2020. The Kings bought the estate several years earlier to use as their private residence.
"We knew someday we were gonna do something special with it," said Joseph King.
Since then, they have made magic happen for many other couples who are celebrating the start to their stories.
"We work with a lot of local businesses, florists, DJs, photographers," said Kelly King. "Some of them already have been out here, so we have all inclusive packages we put together for the couple. We call the vendors and see if they're available for that date."
The King family and staff are hands-on for every event on the grounds.
There's a total of 10 acres at Argyll Abbey Estate, and it offers several different options to enjoy outdoors.
One of them is 1800-era barn, which includes Joseph King's hand-built bar.
The venue includes a groom's lounge and an upstairs suite for the bride to get ready in.
