Erie Man Pleads Guilty in Drug Dealing Conspiracy
An Erie man pleaded guilty to federal charges after investigators seized cocaine destined for Erie from Puerto Rico, according to the U.S. Department of Justice on Tuesday.
Abimael Arroyo-Garcia, 36, entered the plea to two counts of violating federal drug laws.
He was involved in a conspiracy to deal large quantities of cocaine and heroin in Erie from November 2017 through February 2020, according to information presented to the court.
Investigators seized approximately $250,000 in cocaine destined for Erie from Puerto Rico on Feb. 10, 2020, as part of this conspiracy, investigators said.
Arroyo-Garcia will return to court for sentencing for Dec. 13, at 2 p.m. He faces a total sentence of up to 40 years in prison, a maximum fine of $5,000,000, or both.
