Today, 15 local families with children that have disabilities received custom made adaptive bikes this morning, tailor made around each individual child's needs.

The bikes were presented by the non-profit, Variety, at the Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit 5 office.

All children and families received their new mobility equipment together during two special presentations, which ended with a memorable parade and celebration.

The custom bikes are designed for children with special needs, giving them the experience of riding a bike for the first time.

Parents said it's a chance for their children to simply be kids, offers their children an increased sense of independence.

Variety has presented dozens of custom bikes like these, for children in Edinboro area over the past year.
